Torturing a Filipino prisoner or suspected spy. To administer the "water cure," the spy or prisoner was held flat on his back on the ground, a bamboo or other strong hollow tube was forced into his mouth and poured water or other liquid until resulting in gastric distension, water intoxication, and possibly death.
